File Processing & Storage

  • Uploaded files are processed automatically by our repair system. No human views or accesses your documents.
  • Files are stored temporarily in encrypted cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) for the duration of the repair process and download window.
  • All files are automatically deleted within 24 hours via storage lifecycle policies. This includes original and recovered files.
  • Download links are time-limited and expire after use to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Files are not shared, indexed, or reused for any purpose beyond your repair request.

Security Measures

  • HTTPS encryption: All file uploads and downloads use TLS encryption.
  • Secure storage: Files are stored in access-controlled cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest.
  • No permanent storage: We do not keep backup copies or archives of your files.
  • Isolated processing: Each file is processed in an isolated environment.

What We Collect

PDFRepair collects minimal data to operate the service:

  • File metadata: Filename, file size, and upload timestamp for processing purposes only.
  • IP address: Used temporarily for rate limiting to prevent abuse. Not stored permanently.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Anonymous analytics: Basic usage metrics (page views, conversion rates) without personally identifiable information.

We do NOT collect: email addresses, names, account credentials, or any personal information. No registration is required.

Recovery Process Privacy

PDF recovery is automated and probabilistic:

  • Files are analyzed and repaired by automated software, not humans.
  • The system extracts only technical metadata needed for repair (page count, file structure).
  • Document content is not read, logged, or analyzed beyond what's necessary for structural recovery.
  • No machine learning models are trained on your data.

Third-Party Services

We use these third-party services:

  • Stripe: Secure payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data according to their privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare R2: Temporary file storage and delivery. Files are automatically deleted per lifecycle rules.
  • Vercel: Web application hosting and serverless functions for file processing.

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We do not share file content with any service beyond what's necessary for temporary storage and payment processing.

No Accounts or Tracking

  • No email address required
  • No password to manage
  • No user profiles or accounts
  • No cross-site tracking cookies
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels

Data Retention

Files: Automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload via cloud storage lifecycle policies.

Payment records: Retained by Stripe per their compliance requirements. We store only transaction IDs for support purposes.

Logs: Technical logs (error reports, rate limit checks) are retained for 30 days maximum and do not contain file content.

Your Rights

Because we don't store personal information or maintain accounts, there is no profile data to access, export, or delete. Your files are automatically removed within 24 hours.

If you have concerns about a specific file upload, contact us at support@pdfrepair.io with the job ID, and we can verify deletion status.
